Argentina is a huge and varied country covering very different climatic zones stretching from the Atlantic to Pacific oceans. Each of its regions offers breathtaking landscapes that change dramatically when moving from its subtropical rainforests and jungle in the north, through the pampas to Patagonia in the south with its glaciers and polar climate. It is thanks to its nature and landscapes why Argentina is considered one of the most picturesque countries in the world. The chance to experience all these different regions of Argentina are offered in our ALL IN ONE trip.
DAY1. BUENOS AIRES. CITY TOUR
Your personal guide will meet you at the airport, and arrange transfer to your hotel by car/minibus with breakfast. You will then enjoy an original sightseeing tour of the city by car. The tour will begin in one of the most important and historic squares in the city - Plaza de Mayo - where you will see the Casa Rosada, the historic Cabildo and Metropolitan Cathedral. We will then visit San Telmo – the city’s oldest ‘barrio’ famous for its townhouses, cobbled streets, antique shops and historic cafes and bars.
And we’ll also drop in on San Telmo Market with its curiosity shops and vintage stores. Next stop is La Boca - the city’s most colourful neighbourhood – located on the banks of the Riachuelo river. While we walk down El Caminito with its traditional houses painted in bright colours you can stop to watch the tango dancers and local artists and stalls selling paintings and handicrafts.
The next stop is Puerto Madero – the most modern part of the city with its quay, converted wharf buildings and the elegant bridge el Puente de La Mujer. We will then move on to Palermo, the city’s largest neighbourhood - famous for its parks and statues and its trendy bars, restaurants and nightclubs. We’ll also walk around Recoleta Cemetery famous as the resting place of Eva Perón and former Argentine presidents and historical figures
On the way back to the hotel, we will catch a glimpse of one of the poorest parts of the city known as ‘Villa 31’ and also see a number of other important buildings and monuments Besides, you will have a chance to have a coffee at Argentina Coffee Laboratory, and try Argentine mate and,if you want to, have lunch in an traditional restaurant. In the evening you will have dinner and see a tango-show at one of most authentic places in Buenos Aires.
DAY 2. IGUAZU, BRAZILIAN SIDE, BIRD PARK
Early morning flight to Iguazu.
Meeting at the airport, then arriving at your hotel on either Argentine or Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls A personal guided tour of the waterfalls and Iguazu national park on the Brazilian side with its wildlife and plants. You’ll enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the falls from different vantage points and appreciate one of the world’s true natural wonders. We’ll also visit the bird park that has more than 900 different species. After the tour you will return to your hotel to relax.
DAY 3. IGUAZU, ARGENTINE SIDE
Breakfast in the hotel, and transfer to the Argentine side of the waterfalls.
The excursion will begin with a visit to a museum, before embarking on two different tour routes in the national park from above and below. Each circuit lasts around 1 hour and 15 minutes and the upper one offers amazing panoramic views of more than 200 different waterfalls with the Brazilian jungle behind.
A short journey on the park’s Ecological Jungle Train wand a walk along a series of bridges and gangways will take you to one of the park’s most dramatic sites - el Garganta Del Diablo or The Devil’s Throat. Standing only a few metres from a sheer drop of 80 metres you can feel the force of the huge wall of water. While walking remember that you are in the jungle! Do not leave your bag unattended, otherwise quick paws of a coati or a monkey may take from you everything tasty whatever they can find.
After the excursion you will return to your hotel for dinner.
DAY 4. IGUAZU-MENDOZA.
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the airport. Flight to Mendoza. Meeting in the airport and transfer to the chosen hotel.
OPTIONAL: a horse ride in the evening or dinner at a vineyard.
DAY 5. MENDOZA. VINEYARDS TOUR.
Breakfast at the hotel. 09.00 departure to the region Lujan de Сuyo. Journey time is around 20 minutes.
Before lunch you will visit 3 vineyards, where you can taste between 3 to 5 different including harvest wines, and some of the best wines from Mendoza. Our guide will also explain be there to explain about the winemaking process, different grapes and blends and answer all your questions.
To end the visit you’ll enjoy lunch at a vineyard restaurant – with a variety of dishes accompanied by especially-chosen wines from one of the Argentina’s most famous wine regions.
The vineyards we visit may vary depending on the time of the visit and also your preferences.
DAY 6. MENDOZA - EL CALAFATE.
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to the airport. Flight to El Calafate. Meeting at the airport, transfer to your chosen hotel. Free time to walk around the city and relax. 21.00 – Dinner with a folklore show at Estancia 25 de mayo.
This working ‘estancia’ is one of the oldest ranches in Patagonia covering 17,000 hectares and is located in a few minutes by car from the centre of El Calafate. This spot at the foot of the hill Cerro Calafate is ideal for relaxing and enjoing the fresh Patagonia air and the area’s amazing landscapes. You will have dinner in the restaurant El Quincho that specialises in traditional Argentinian dishes. During the meal you will enjoy an Argentine folklore show and traditional dancing.
At 22.30 transfer will take you back to El Calafate.
DAY 7. EL CALAFATE. TREKKING ON PERITO MORENO GLACIER.
Departure from the hotel at 8.00, and transfer to the port from where a boat will take you to the glacier. There you will meet expert guides who will provide you with the necessary equipment and help fit your harnesses and crampons. The route of the trek goes along the southern edge of Perito Moreno Glacier where you will enjoy incredible views of the glacier’s front wall and the guides will explain about the different terrain and the crevasses, and caves. There will also be a nice surprise waiting for you at the end in the Ice Bar!
After your exertions on the ice you will have time to enjoy a picnic lunch. Your pack lunch will be prepared for you in advance. Later a boat will take you back to the shore from where you will go up to the various viewpoints. If you are lucky, you may catch a glimpse of a large chunk of ice falling into the lake below or experience the cracking and of the ice as pieces fall off and crash into the water below.
You will have 1.5 hours to walk along the wooden walkways and enjoy some wonderful views of the glacier.
Around 18.00 — arrive in El Calafate.
DAY 8. EL CALAFATE AND USHUAIA.
08.00 Check-out from the hotel and departure to Cerro Frias. Cerro Frías is a small Patagonian ranch located about 30 minutes by car from El Calafate and offers a wide range of outdoor activities.
There are 4 activities to choose from:
When you come back to the ranch a hot lunch will be waiting for you including traditional meat cooked on fire with Patagonian wine.
Late transfer to the airport and a flight to Ushuaia Pick up at the airport. Transfer to the hotel and dinner.
OPTIONAL: Helicopter flight and tour offering a bird’s eye view of Laguna Esmeralda - one of the most beautiful lakes in the region surrounded by snow-capped mountains. Duration of the trip is 1 hour and includes a 15-minute flight in the helicopter. There is an option to extend the flight and fly above the city and surrounding, areas or over the lakes and National Park.
DAY 9. USHUAIA. SEE THE PENGUINS.
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to the port to take a 2 hour trip in catamaran to Estancia Harberton. This is an estancia that is famous for being the first in Tierra del Fuego built by an Anglican missionary in 1886. Here you will have lunch before travelling by boat to Isla Martillo to visit the penguin colony.
Penguins remain here from October to March during their reproduction cycle. The colony has more than 3,000 pairs of Magellanic penguins and the population continues to grow. After the mating season is over penguins migrate northwards and will stay out at sea for more than 6 months until the winter is over.
You will then return to Estancia Harberton at 17.00 before getting back to your hotel in Ushuaia around 19.00.
DAY 10. USHUAiA. BOAT TRIP ALONG BEAGLE CHANNEL. RETURNING TO BUENOS AIRES.
Breakfast in the hotel and check-out.
09.00 – Leave for boat trip along the Beagle Channel to the see Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse that marks the dangerous rocks at the entrance to Ushuaia Bay. And is also the last landmark that sailors will see on their way to Antartica On the journey you will watch sea lions and an abundance of bird life including albatrosses, ducks and geese. You will return to the port of Ushuaia at around 13.00. There is the option of lunch in a local restaurants before travelling to the airport.
Flight to Buenos Aires.
Pick up at the airport in Buenos Aires. And transfer to your hotel.
A farewell dinner hosted by PAM Travel that will include a traditional Argentinian ‘asado’ and a glass of Malbec and lots of special memories from your visit to Argentina!
